About us
Our vision is to create a professional and productive community that works together with communities in the developing world and in disaster areas on the basis of respect and reciprocity.
The renewal of the activity of the Israeli branch came after decades of a significant decrease in the Israeli contribution to the field of international development since the 1970s, both in terms of funding and scope of activity.
Since its establishment, Sid-Israel has been working to create a multi-sector community in the field of development and international aid, to raise awareness and responsibility among Israeli society for the issue, to encourage a supportive government environment and to professionalize those working in the field.
How we strated
The activity of the Israeli branch of the Association for International Development (Sid Israel) was renewed in 2011 at the initiative of the late Dr. Yehuda Paz. Dr. Yehuda Paz was a world-renowned expert in the fields of international development and cooperation who saw before his eyes an Israeli company contributing professionally to needy populations, in disaster areas and developing countries in the world.
Sid-Israel was also established thanks to the generosity and contribution of the Pierce Foundation , which supports us from the beginning of our journey until today. The Pierce Foundation is a British family foundation whose roots are deeply rooted in Jewish values, and works to implement values of global responsibility. The foundation supports many enabling programs that deal with the education of the next generation of Jewish and Israeli activity that significantly influences the world for the better.
